
The
uKhahlamba-Drakensberg
Park is one of the
few “combined” world
heritage sites –
natural and cultural
resources are
protected here. In
addition to the
unique flora and
fauna of this area,
there are the
ancient rock
paintings of the San
Bushman. They were
the first to use
colour and dimension
in their depictions.
In this magnificent mountainous area some 150 bird species have
been recorded.

Black Stork, Bearded

Buzzard, Black
Harrier, Alpine and
Horus Swifts, Bush
Blackcap, Chorister
Robinchat, Guerney's
Sugarbird,

Rock Thrush,
Orangebreasted
Rockjumper, Layard's
Titbabbler, Rock and
Mountain Pipits,
Thickbilled Lark,
etc.
You’ll also see
animals like eland,
klipspringer,
mountain reedbuck,
Chacma baboon and
others.
