On Day 5,
we’ll head off
inland for
Wakkerstroom.
Although it’s a 4
hour drive it’ll be
well worth it for
the wonderful
scenery on the way
there and for some
of the
highland-grassland
and wetland specials
of the area.
We’ll reach our
destination in
Wakkerstroom for
lunch and spend the
afternoon and
evening walking the
nearby wetland and
at the hide on the
vlei (swamp).
Day 6:
We’ll be up early to
meet our local guide
who’ll take us to
the best spots in
the area for
sightings of Blue
Korhaan, Bald Ibis,
Yellowbreasted
Pipit, Botha’s and
Rudd’s Larks,
Crowned and perhaps
even Wattled Cranes,
African Marsh
Harrier and many
others.
