Day 1:
Departing Durban, our first stop will be the renowned Ongoye Forest
where we値l hope to
get sightings of
Green Barbet,
Yellow-streaked
Greenbul, Eastern
Bronze-naped Pigeon
and some of the of
the other specials
that this amazing
little forest
supports. It was in
this forest that Dr
Medley Wood found
the world痴 last
living specimen of
Wood痴 Cycad (encephalartos
woodii) and there
are a number of rare
plants and trees
that are found here.
After a picnic
lunch, we値l move on
up to Eshowe in time
to book in to one of
the B&B
establishments in
town where we値l
spend the night.
That
afternoon\evening,
we値l visit the
Dlinza Forest to
spend some time
hunting for Narina
Trogon,
White-starred Robin,
Chorister Robinchat,
White-eared barbet,
Green Malkoha, Green
Twinspot, Olive
Woodpecker and
others. We値l walk
in the forest as
well as on the famed
aerial boardwalk.
