The reserve is largely savannah habitat with some grassland and riverine forest. It
is, however, one of
the larger protected
areas in the region
and supports a
number of unusual
bird species. We can
expect to see more
than 100 species in
a day here.
We’ll overnight in one of the various facilities on offer
depending on one’s
preference. Our
favourite, for
groups of 4 or more,
are the bush camps
where we are
accommodated in an
exclusive camp with
our own camp cook
and game tracker.
Each of the 4
two-bedded (en
suite) bungalows is
connected by a
boardwalk through
the bush.
We’ll do a game walk that evening before sundowners and a
barbeque dinner.
