Day 1:
Departing Durban we
would travel north
towards Zululand,
our first stop at
Richards Bay and the
Thulazihleka Hide
where we’ll likely
see Baillon’s Crake,
White backed Duck,
Black
Heron,
Lesser Jacana,
African Rail,
African Pygmy-Goose,
many other herons,
ducks, weavers and
warblers, pelicans
and African Fish
Eagle.
Our next destination will be Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve where
we’ll stop for a
light lunch at the
Centenary Centre
inside the park.
Here they also have
the game capture
pens where we may
see White Rhino at
very close quarters
as well as other
animals awaiting
sale. This park is
famous for the
rescue of White
Rhino from virtual
extinction in the
mid-1900’s.
